Footnote 614
Among the 15th century sources are the following:
"Chronique de la Pucelle": "... and [Charles] came to camp with his army before the aforesaid city of Auxerre, which didn't render full obedience; for they came before the King to request that he should move on, asking for neutrality..." (For the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, pp. 249 - 250).
Jean Chartier: "... which city [Auxerre] didn't render him full obedience..." (For the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, p. 72).
Enguerrand de Monstrelet says that the citizens of Auxerre were initially "not at all pleased" with the prospect of accepting Charles as their "natural and lawful lord". (For the original language, see: Quicherat's "Procès...", Vol IV, p. 377).
